Set unification

چکیده
The unification problem in algebras capable of describing sets has been tackled, directly or indirectly, by many researchers and it finds important applications in various research areas—e.g., deductive databases, theorem proving, static analysis, rapid software prototyping. The various solutions proposed are spread across a large literature. In this paper we provide a uniform presentation of unification of sets, formalizing it at the level of set theory. We address the problem of deciding existence of solutions at an abstract level. This provides also the ability to classify different types of set unification problems. Unification algorithms are uniformly proposed to solve the unification problem in each of such classes. The algorithms presented are partly drawn from the literature—and properly revisited and analyzed—and partly novel proposals. In particular, we present a new goal-driven algorithm for general ACI 1 unification and a new simpler algorithm for general (Ab)(C l) unification.

The Effects of Exchange Rate Unification on the Iranian Economy
The exchange rate unification is one of the most important instruments of economic adjustment, which is used in many countries. This paper shows the effects of the exchange rate unification on price level (inflation), gross domestic production (GDP), non-oil exports, private conception, government expenditure and stock of money. The data, is used related to the period 1959-2000. To analyze the ...

This article demonstrates a part of findings of a research that has been designed with the intention of determining the characteristics of the desired public policy making system for achieving social justice. To begin with, James P. Sterba's categorization of alternative political perspectives to justice is reviewed and then "truth – oriented" justice is studied. To reach a precise and scholar...
متن کاملThe Role of Inflation Targeting in Exchange Rate Unification Policy: Difference-in-Differences Approach
Generally, one of the important issue in open macroeconomics and international finance literature is the innovations of exchange rate regimes, and exchange rate unification policy is one of the most important reforming policies in developing and emerging countries. By considering the experience of other emerging countries for exchange rates unification policy in this study, it will be investig...
متن کاملA Minimality Study for Set Unification
A unification algorithm is said to be minimal for a unification problem if it generates exactly a (minimal) complete set of most-general unifiers, without instances, and without repetitions. The aim of this paper is to present a combinatorial minimality study for a significant collection of sample problems that can be used as benchmarks for testing any set-unification algorithm. Based on this c...
متن کاملFrom Set to Hyperset Unification
In this paper we show how to extend a set unification algorithm— that is, an extended unification algorithm incorporating the axioms of a simple theory of sets—to hyperset unification (roughly speaking, to sets in which membership can form cycles). This result is obtained by enlarging the domain of terms (hence, trees) to that of graphs involving free as well as interpreted function symbols (na...
متن کاملUnification on Subvarieties of Pseudocomplemented Distributive Lattices
Syntactic unification theory is concerned with the problem of finding a substitution that equalises a finite set of pairs of terms simultaneously. More precisely, given a set of function symbols L and a finite set of pairs of L-terms U = {(t1, s1), . . . , (tm, sm)}, called a unification problem, a unifier for U is a substitution σ defined on the set of variables of the terms in U such that σ(t...
